No direspect, but how come everyone relates Itagaki related news to DOA related news now? He isn't apart of Tecmo/Kotec anymore so he can't make a new DOA/NG game. So any news on him is irrelevant to DOA I think.

Unless he tries to sue Tecmo again, which I don't see happening. Again no disrespect I just wanted to put that out there.

BlackBerry Chaos is correct. He's really really correct. But yet and still for emotional reasons I feel that Itagaki DESERVES to be on the front page of DOAcentral. And that's just how it is.

Given his comments that fighters are on their way to dieing you really want to hear what he says?

You make a good point, but Dead Or Alive Series and it's Creator are always going to be tied together and related as well they should be.

For example if you read the linked articles, Itagaki-san is creating a new game, that is of course NOT Dead Or Alive or not even a fighting game and yet the Press mentions both Dead Or Alive and Fighting games in it's stories. Why? Because DoA is Itagaki's greatest claim to fame and as he said his best all time seller as a developer and producer.

You are correct though that Itagaki has nothing to do now with the FUTURE of the Dead Or Alive Series. (although it you could argue that it will still most likely be his former Team Ninja Students that will steer the series forward). For that we all are looking for news from the new Tecmo-Koei company. As far as the current DoA and the HISTORICAL Dead Or Alive Series :itagaki will always be related to his "daughter".

In particular though I thought he also made a few interesting points to consider. For example he said that they considered DoA the counterbalance to the other mainstream fighting games at the time.

So if Bill Gates sold Microsoft his name should never be mentioned again in Microsoft? Whether he works for Tecmo or not DOA would not exist without him.

I'm for keeping it out of the DOA section.

It isn't about disrespecting Itagaki so much as it that both Tecmo and Itagaki have closed that chapter, case was settled and everything.

The new Valhalla website has now gone live:

There's also some cool interviews conducted with Itagaki, his programmers and designers.

just one L O L after another

Self-praise stinks. Even Itagaki should know this. I know he talks ALOT but, wow, this was a bit over the top.
Even if he created DOA. His last games were huge disappointments. DOAX2, bugged and glitched NG2, a quick made DOA4.
I dont think the has the right to speak like a god now. I respect him as a game developer and I'm glad he brought me DOA, still my favourite console game.
But I'm not watching and supporting everything he says.

Quote:
50 people working for two years can produce something better than 100 people working for one year.

yes, sure, NG2 >>>>> 3 years, more than just "50 people" and it was actually nothing really new and even worser than his first game in the series.
DOA3 his best game. So why is DOA4 not the best? Maybe because it was just bad in some aspects?

Stop laughing at your (still loyal?) community and fanbase, Itagaki-san. It's not really funny anymore.

Good thing Itagaki doesn't give a shit about sales or fans lol, otherwise we'd never keep getting *sarcasm* sweet games like doa4 *end sarcasm* :-D anyways, I am interested to see what he makes now, because regardless of DOA4, his games are pretty fucking good.

I don't see a problem with Itagaki news being on the front page. It's not like we've been getting an incredible amount of press on a new doa or ng game anyway. It's been two years since itagaki left and all we've been getting are rehash ports after rehash ports from team ninja.

I don't think the problem is with the front page, but that this was posted (originally) in the Dead or Alive News board. Of which, this isn't. So it was moved to teh Video Games General Board.

The use of a game in a major world wide tournament is a great thing for a developer to recognise about their game. If more companies paid attention to this, gaming communities of all types would see more benefits.
