DOA IN DALLAS! #4

Alright people usually i would wait a little longer to announce a tournament like this HOWEVER this year we are joining another wonderful convention. this time an ANIME convention! with crowds being in the 10,000! So if you love doa and anime or women dressed up as anime characters then this will definitely be a nice treat for you! but then again when is D.I.D. not a good treat!? lol Anyway here is the Basic info and just as a reminder the venue and date WILL NOT CHANGE, it is SET in stone. DOACentral and DFWGames where able to get this venue for us and these are the dates for the convention.


Where am i competing at, What venue or Location?!

When will it be held to better prepare myself, or how many days should i get off work to fully enjoy this event?!

DATE!

May 30th- June 1st! ! !
That is a weekend and that is in the SUMMER! (perfect for six flags hurricane harbor )
ALSO! i strongly suggest coming on Thursday (instead of Friday) anytime of the day is fine just be reasonable for the people picking you up and leaving Monday (instead of Sunday). However if this is not possible that is fine, i understand some players just cannot get that many days off of work or cant afford that period. Here are dates if you do come early May 29th-June 2nd (ANOTHER REMINDER CGS DOAPLAYERS INCLUDING MYSELF WILL LEAVE EARLY ON SUNDAY SO PLEASE BE PREPARED FOR THAT IF YOU ARE STAYING WITH ME.)

So coming in on Friday and leaving on Sunday is perfectly fine however make sure when coming in on Friday you come in b4 10am (so you get picked up and make it to the tourney on time.) and leave on Sunday sometime after 11 pm just in case the person giving you a ride to the airport or bus station is still in the tourney or is too busy doing something else.

Now the most ideal situation here would be everyone comes in on Thursday around noon and leaves Monday early evening time but that is only a suggestion because when players do this it is usually a lot more fun and it makes it easier on tourney organizers. If you are not sure if it would be worth coming in early and leaving later just ask one of the players that has attended previous D.I.D's . HOWEVER FOR PLAYERS STAYING OR PLANNING TO STAY AT THE MASTER HOUSE REMEMBER THAT THE CGS PLAYERS INCLUDING MYSELF WILL LEAVE DALLAS BY SUNDAY AFTERNOON! SO PLEASE HAVE PLANS READY TO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE IF YOU PLAN TO CHILL WITH ME FOR MOST OF THE WEEKEND.

@ D.I.D. we are always trying to make sure our players are taken care of and a easier way to accomplish that would be to come early and leave later however like i said b4 we totally understand players have jobs, school or other responsibilities and we are here for you too. We bend over backwards for our players so they can enjoy themselves fully at our event and be light on the Wallet/Purse/Man bag/Man purse (LOL).

What tournaments can i get in, will there be DOA tag or maybe another fighter/tournament?

XBOX Joystick is welcomed and wired pads are fine! NO WIRELESS PADS WHATSOEVER! i repeat none will be allowed at the event. There is only one exception! and that is having the play and charge kit however the rear of the controller must have nothing on it! meaning the battery casing must be taken off during the whole time of the singles tournament! (Stay tuned though for more updates on this rule to finalize controller Tag tournament rules)

I want to make this event but i am low on some $$, will there be housing?

Like all previous D.I.D.'s yes there will be housing to most if not all the players. Again the MASTER/DOA house will be open like always However V.I.P.'s get first pick on the LIST to my house and after that the players list will then be looked at . ANOTHER THING IS SINCE ALL CGS PLAYERS HAVE TO LEAVE SUNDAY AFTERNOON BE PREPARED TO LEAVE MY PLACE BY THEN. YOU ALL DONT HAVE TO GO BACK HOME JUST NEED TO GET THE HECK OUT MY PLACE! LOL.

ONE BIIIIIIGGGGGG Reminder! the people housing the players are HOUSING! not FEEDING! However when staying at my place i usually take everyone in the morning that is hungry to a restaurant so they can feed themselves and usually get them to another place for lunch Dinner is random. If you don't wake up or miss the meal 'drive' o well! i don't drive to any place twice and you will have to wait. But no worries my home is only 1 mile away from every fast food or regular restaurant if you want to walk at your own time .

What should i bring? or what should i prepare for?

1st of all bring yourself! lol trust me when i tell you that you do not want to miss this tournament whatsoever. Regardless if you are a pro or just a casual player trying to learn. it will knock your ninja boots off! Also i cannot repeat this enough, when being housed please travel lightly! *cough Vanessa cough hundred pound bag Cough!* Remember there is no special magical storage place for suitcases or luggage and i understand you want to keep your belongings safe so try your best to travel as light as possible so it is easier to store or keep closer to you with out using all the house space. Also make sure you have enough $$ for your food and tourney(s) remember fast food is right around the corner from my house if you want to keep a low budget or just go to wal mart and buy groceries which is also around the corner.

2ndly! bring your own PAD! i cannot stress this enough! try your best not to borrow another persons pad and also remember to label or give your pad/stick that special marking so you know it is yours! Keep your pad close to you at all times! *Cough TOM Cough keep close to you Cough*

Well Players get those thumbs warmed up all the way for this summer because it is going to be off the chain!

Again i am posting this thread 5 to 6 months early so save up a little every week or month and this should be easy seeing that it is in the summer.

And as a quick update airline tickets from new york, chicago, LA or east coast are currently around 200$-250 so get your tickets early to save more

P.S. Don't forget to be prepared for the traditional TGI fridays with a table so long you have to scream at the other player to hear you after the tourney and Of course who can forget about a Party after wards, maybe a club? we'll see as the time comes closer lol!

No trust me this is a huge convention JO last one we had at D.I.D.#3 was expected to be bigger but something happened. Anyway this is one of the BIGGEST conventions of the country so even a small turnout would be huge JO. no worries there and check out the site to see how many people attend if you dont believe me.

Also if you are going to ask to stay at my place just ask in the housing threads and i will answer there. just trying to keep it a little organized thats all.

Also there will be cosplay from the anime convention however for DOA it will be called costume competition. I was told i had to make sure they where separated because A-Kon has an organizer for there cosplay lol but anyway yes we plan to do a Costume competition and the original post will be updated once we are ready to announce that.
