Well that time is coming around again where all the big tymers get together to mash everyone's head in and the up in comers build on some upsets to make a name =). The Date is expected to be on the last weekend of MAY. We want to make sure we kicked off everyone's summer RIGHT! More info will come as things get set in stone and of course we are shooting for big money prizes and shwag =). Again we are planning to be with A-Kon this year and this time it is there 20th anniversary so lots of anime, gaming, cosplay and whatever else you want to think about will be here! lol.
Again At D.I.D. we try to do everything we can for our players. D.I.D. was made from the players FOR the players. Start making some plans to head out here in the mecca of gaming, Dallas Texas, and lets have some fun.

Why don't you just add DOA to TiT8 since it takes place the first week in June?

We had really good feedback from A-Kon last year that they really wanted us there this year for the D.I.D. event and gaming in general. I only heard rumors that TiT was actually going to happen. (thats good though that they are going to keep it going.)

Big sponsorship money in this economy can't be guaranteed at this point but we are already talking to possible supporters. All prize payouts will begin with a normal split of the pot so that's based on attendance as always.
Beyond that we'll see what we can add from potential sponsors in terms of prizes or additional cash but Street Fighter IV is definitely on the agenda.
In the "Post CGS Era" for DoA we want to get back to the fun of the game for the fans of the game 1st and foremost which is why DoaCentral was established. If that's a 10-man tournament or a 50-man tournament that's still the point of D.I.D.5.
Last year was again a blast and all the players got to enjoy the big Party that is A-kon. We also had a great costume contest that set a world record in participation.
Here's a few of the Costume Winners in DoA from A-kon 19 :

With A-Kon it's best to get together with a few people and Reserve a HOTEL ROOM EARLY!
You can get a good rate the sooner you reserve a hotel room and it becomes very affordable when you reserve a room with several people which is traditional at these Cons.
For those that can't do that we will still work with you on finding locals to shackup with but many of us locals will also have hotel rooms.
