yup. I've actually considered buying up the new Slim. But I do still play PS2 games from time to time (back catalog) and enjoy the fact I don't need a memory card anymore.
And Nintendo doesn't price drop, they just release a modified version at equal or higher.

They're all looking good but the real question now is which one do you already own or which one would you like to have two of?
What do you guys think this is going to do to the Console Wars (PS3vsXbox360vs Wii)? Will PS3 gets bought more with a low price or will Xbox really get momentum? Will the black Wii make consumers buy more of them or will the 'no change' in price drop start to slow them down?
with PS3 now being equal price to 360 and only $50 dollars more than Wii, they now both look like complete ripoffs compared to PS3 and what it offers. Blu ray player, built in wi-fi, superior graphics, far more reliable hardware than 3fixme, free online, 160gb hd, all for the price of 299. even the biggest Sony hating idiots out there can't deny the value it offers over the other two. it will no doubt outsell 360 for the rest of the year and will atleast come close to wii's monthly sales.

I bet you taught the PS3 would outsell the 360 every year ehh? Wake up that has yet to happen and I really dont see that happening this year or next. BTW: The 360 is the cheapest next gen console out so the PS3 is technically 100 more then xbox 360

It might get a deserving boost in sales, but it's way to far behind to catch up to the lead 360 and wii.
Edit: I'm assuming the blue is your edits Raansu? Are you seriously that stupid to say WiFi is "slow" and you can't trust it? What shitty routers are you using?
Ref PSN v XBL, online performance for both is almost always identicle. Pretty much the only difference between the two is feature sets.

all that "added value" what customers want(?) is why PS3 is 3rd this gen.
Blu ray adds nothing near game enhancement as predicted by Sony.
Poorly thoughtout hardware means 3rd party titles are better on the 360, and only big money flops like killzone have nice graphics, but still only get 90% average. The Cell stuff was a very large mistake, maybe even bigger than including Bluray, which did at least serve some purpose for pushing the format.
Not only that, it's losing to a console with rrod. That's like losing to Ted Kennedy in the 100m dash.
A slim sales spike and they think it's victolly! _________________ fanboy hurt feelings over consumer electronics is pretty sad. . . and funny getting a reaction out of them.

While I don't think there is really an inherent difference in the performance of the two services, I am starting to see where that notion comes from.
With Blazblue the PS3 release didn't get its patch until one day after the release where as the 360 version was ready from day. This patch which both platforms received improved the performance and rather significantly. Which got me thinking about all those betas that are only on XBL or where Lost Planet 2 mp demo is on XBL, but not PSN. Then there are cases SFHDR and Lost Planet where the ps3 version is treated like the red headed bastard child and just chucked out.

PSN and Xbox live are the exact same, seriously. Xboxlive use to be so much faster and streamlined before this bastard update(XME). Ad filled, slower servers, slow and clunky loading interface, and you pay for all of that, lol. On PSN I can deal with slightly slower servers, the quality over all is fucking good, and it's free, like online is supposed to be. Xbox live is the equivalent of charging for water at a restaurant.
PS3 can easily catch up the X360, the gap is tiny. It's all about catch up to the Wii. _________________

Uhm, psn is moving toward that with 3.0. Defaults to What's New on start up and playstation store icon is getting added to the video section at least. So now I can experience all the intrusive advertising and redundancy that I thought I left behind with XBL.

Not to sound like a MS fan because i really do like all systems, however ps3 never had anything special to me including free internet (Or Games)because the system was just too expensive. Not to mention the cost to have it 'then' would cover close to FOUR years of xbox live, which is close to the length of how long PS3 has been out and its close to the average life span of a console -_-. On top of it all that ODST game actually looks better and seems like it will have a high replay value just going by the pictures.
Also personally i have always been a fan of having my systems hardwired to the internet especially if i am competitive in the game. It only makes sense to play a game as good as you can without as much interference. There's so many awesome games hitting PS3 between this holiday season and early next year, it's crazy! The only radar blips hitting X360 in that time are Halo: ODST ("expansion" to Halo 3 . . I hear it uses the same engine) and Splinter Cell Conviction. Forza 3, IMO, is a fly on GT5's windshield. lol
